INDIA SIGNS MoU
FOR COOPERATION IN AGRICULTURAL RESEARCH
AND EDUCATION WITH CHILE

 

India has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Chile to promote and accelerate the progress of research and training in various disciplines of agricultural research. The MoU was signed by Shri Sharad Pawar, Minister of Agriculture, Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution on behalf of Government of India and Jaime Campos, Minister of Agriculture on behalf of the Instituto De Investigaciones Agropecuarias, Government of Chile on 20th January, 2005 in New Delhi.

According to MoU, both sides agreed to exchange of Scientists and technologists; exchange of germ plasm and breeding material; exchange of scientific literature, information and methodology; exchange of scientific equipment and development and implementation of collaborative research projects.

The implementing agencies of this MoU will be Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and the Instituto de Investigaciones Agropecuarias (INIA) Chile.
