INFORMATION ON ADMISSIONS

The students desiring admission in any of the agricultural university for degree programme may obtain the application form through their respective Embassies for programme under which they wish to seek admission. There are three streams through which foreign nationals could seek admission to various courses offered.

A. The foreign nationals are admitted to State Agricultural Universities or ICAR Institutes on the recommendations of the Government of India. Such candidates should approach Director, Department of Agricultural Research & Education (DARE), Krishi Bhavan, New Delhi-110 001 (India) through their Embassy or recommendation/nomination of their names for admission. Their admission will be subject to the production of Student’s Visa and eligibility requirement of the University.

Government of India offers a number of scholarships and fellowships under Colombo Plan, Cultural Exchange, Technical Exchange, ITEC etc., and this information is available with our Indian Embassies in each country. All applications are required to be sponsored by their Government to:

These applications will be forwarded to the DARE for placement. Generally eight weeks are required for getting all clearances once the application reaches Director, Department of Agricultural Research & Education, Krishi Bhavan, New Delhi 110 001.

 

B. Candidates sponsored by their countries are admitted to SAU's/DU's. They have to pay an Economic Fee of US $ 4000 per annum plus nominal other fees (US $ 200-400 per annum). Their applications can be sent directly in the prescribed form by their Government or Embassy in India to:

After completing all formalities, the applications must reach at least two to three months in advance of the start of the academic session (July-August) in University of choice. Sponsored candidates application could also be sent to Education consultants India Limited (EDCIL) for fast placement to various programmes.

 

C. Self financing meritorious candidates desirous of joining SAU's/DU's may contact EDCIL and send application through them. Detailed information could be obtained by writing to:
